In October 2017, UKSCQA launched an extensive consultation on the UK Quality Code, which was co-ordinated by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) on behalf of all members of UKSCQA. The new Expectations and practices of the Code were published in March 2018. These form the basis of a fully revised UK Quality Code, published in November 2018.The new Expectations and practices benefited from valuable engagement, through the consultation, across all four nations and the full diversity of the sector.
This approach to the new UK Quality Code refocuses it on the core principles in quality assurance, improves its accessibility, and guarantees its fitness for purpose in an evolving regulatory landscape. The new Code remains the cornerstone for quality in UK higher education, protects the public and student interest, and maintains the UK’s world-leading reputation for quality in higher education.
